Sour Cream Cookies

From my mom's (Barb LeCureux)  kitchen
Sour Cream Cookies
1/2 C. Shortening
1 teas. Vanilla extract
1 C. Sugar
1 Egg, beaten
2 2/3 C. Sifted flour
1 teas. Baking powder
1/2 teas. Baking Soda
1/2 teas. Salt
1/4 teas. Nutmeg
1/2 C. Dairy Sour Cream
 
Beat 1st 3 ingredients together. Add egg and beat well. Add flour and dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Roll dough 1/4 in. thick on floured surface. Cut with 2 inch cutter, place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 425. About 8 minutes.
 
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
