Prayer verses
There are some verses in NIV and some
in KJV.
James 5:16 "The prayer
of a righteous man (or women) is powerful and effective."
Did you notice the prerequiste? (A righteous
man!)
Psalm 66:18 "If I
regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me."
Iniquity is sin. Sin in your heart blocks prayers from God. (Click:What is Sin?)
Acts 1:14 "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,
with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren."
Matthew 6:7-8 "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans,
for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows your need before
you ask him."
1 John 5:14-15 "This is the confidence we have in appraoching God:
that is we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us- whatever we ask- we know that
we have what we asked of him."
Matthew 6:6 "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and
pray to your Father, who sees what is done is secret, will reward you."
1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing. "
James 4:7-8 "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he
will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you."
James 4:3 "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with the
wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."
