Prayer is conversation with God. Directly to God. You can pour your soul out to the Lord through thought or words.
God hears our prayer. He will answer in the way that's best. It may be yes, no, or wait.
We must be sincere and ask in faith when we ask for requests.
We can worship and adore God in prayer. We can draw near to God in prayer.
1 Tim. 2:1-6 "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving
be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and
holiness. this is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself ransom
for all men- the testimony given in its proper time."
& v. 8- "I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing."
You can bring your prayers directly to God, you do not need a person to go for you!

Prayer 5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites,
for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have
received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think
they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them,
for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9"This, then, is how you should pray: "
'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10your
kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread. 12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven
our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from the evil one.' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly
Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins,
your Father will not forgive your sins.
. Who are we praying to?
Our Father in heaven (Matt. 5:6:9)
(It’s so wonderful we can pray to an all-knowing, all powerful, listening, caring, loving, Heavenly
father that already knows and cares for our every need! When we pray things begin to change! Our lives change, our family
changes, our communities change, our churches change. Change not only take place when we study about prayer, not when we talk
about prayer, not even when we memorize beautiful Scripture about prayer; it changes when we actually begin to pray. That’s
when things begin to happen!”
God’s will be done (Matt.6:10; Read 1 John 5:14-15)
A) When
we pray God’s Will, we’re asking Him to work out things that are best for us.
A) God is not Santa Claus in the sky
B) God will answer yes, no, or wait
C) God’s Will never goes against Scripture or His character
We can ask specific request (Matt.6:11)
A) Motives,
(James 4:3);
B) Must
ask in faith (Matt 7:7 ask and you will receive,)
C) Read
page 19 “What happens when women Pray”
God says…
We must forgive others, and ask God to forgive us of our sin.
A) When
won’t God answer your prayer? (James 5:16, Ps. 66:18)
B) God
knows your need before you even ask it (Matt. 6:7-)
A- Adoration (Praise God and tell Him how awesome He is!)
C- Confession (Confess your sins. Not only mention them,
but turn from them and turn To God!)
T- Thanksgiving (Being thankful for everything in your life.)
S -Supplication (Requests to God.)
We can start our prayers by adoration to God. Telling Him we love him and focus on his goodness, holiness,
and how awesome he is.
Next we confess our sins. Sin blocks our fellowship with God. He may not answer our prayers when we harbor
sin in our hearts. Psalm 66:18 says "If had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened."
John 16:24 "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your
joy will be complete."
